Vonda K. Mills, Ph.D.

...is an independent consultant, partnering with large and small organizations to increase their leadership effectiveness and create a culture of development. Her main areas of focus are executive coaching, leadership development, and talent management. Previously, she was Vice President of Global People Development for Molson Coors Brewing Company, where she had global responsibility for organization and employee development. During her five years at Molson Coors, she worked on post-acquisition cultural integration, created and implemented a global competency model for development and performance management, and significantly revamped the company's succession planning process. She also piloted and implemented internal top talent development programs and rolled out a customized development center and multi-year program for global GM talent development. She was responsible for leading the employee engagement initiative, which included a yearly People Survey measuring overall engagement and commitment. Finally, she spent a great deal of her time coaching executives in the organization on their leadership effectiveness.

Prior to joining Molson Coors, she was General Manager of Personnel Decisions International's Denver Office. At PDI, she helped establish the Denver operating office and develop the local assessment and coaching businesses. Her focus was helping client organizations assess and develop their most precious asset and most constrained resource---their people. She has provided consultation, assessment, and coaching to managers and executives in many Fortune 500 companies, consulting with them on globalization issues, leadership effectiveness, personal motivation, stress and coping, and succession management. Prior to joining PDI, she worked as an internal consultant at a Fortune 500 financial services organization, helping internal clients assess their culture, identify customer and employee concerns, and put plans in place to address systemic organizational issues.

Dr. Mills holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Jose State University. Her research has focused on the personality attributes, work experiences, and coping strategies of men and women in management and executive positions. Dr. Mills is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado.
